For the past couple of days, we have been planning to proceed cautiously with our Sunday morning services based on the information that was available to us.

As of today, Ontario’s chief medical officer of health is recommending the immediate suspension of all large events and public gatherings of over 250 people due to COVID-19.

While there are still no confirmed cases of the virus in the City of Peterborough, Pathway Church will be cancelling our public gatherings for this coming Sunday, March 15th.

Why would we cancel our services during a pandemic? (in the words of Andy Stanley)

  1. We are loving our neighbours by protecting our neighbours.
  2. We are not being fearful. We are being responsible.
  3. This is what loves requires of us.

So what will we do for this Sunday?

Our friends at Connexus Church (North Point Partner in Barrie Ontario) are making their special ONLINE ONLY service available to Pathway Church.  We are grateful for their generosity in light of the fact that we are currently portable and not able to pull off an online service on short notice.

The online service for this week will include live worship and a special message of hope in the wake of widespread panic.  Here is a promo for the message with Jeff Brodie (Lead Pastor at Connexus Church).

Click this ONLINE SERVICE link at 9:00am or 10:30am on Sunday morning to view the service live.

We will do our best to keep you informed and connected as we work on a ministry plan for the coming weeks.  We will continue to push out notifications for our various ministries and programs as things develop.

Online giving will continue to be available through Tithe.ly and Canada Helps

In this time of uncertainty, we know that we do not need to fear because God is with us.  Let’s use this time to enjoy rest with our families, to pray, and to actively look for opportunities to point those around us to Jesus, who is the source of our PEACE.

Thank you for your understanding and support. Please pass on this information to anyone who may benefit from it.
